TRISOLDE is a symbiotic dance performance inspired by R.Wagner´s opera “Tristan and Isolde”. It is about vibrant relationships between man and woman, confrontational feelings and passion. This work combines interactive technology, audiovisual images and contemporary choreography.
This art-research project is supported by The Cultural Endowment of Estonia and Tallinn University.
The principle of visuals in this performance is analysing the movement of the dancers and projecting the video to the same position.
The image from camera is analysed with a custom software written in XCode using OpenFrameworks. Adjusting the area grabbed by camera to the area of the projected image is done here. Then the movement detection is done with OpenCV. Then the processed video is sent to Resolume Arena using Syphon for adding more live video effects. The coordinates of the dancers are sent to Arena using OSC.
